How AI Learns What You Know: The Science Behind Personalized Education

Every teacher knows that no two students learn the same way — yet most educational systems still teach as if they do. What if technology could finally change that? This talk explores how artificial intelligence can model what is happening in a learner's mind: estimating what a student has mastered, predicting where they will struggle, and adapting instruction in real time. Drawing on recent research in knowledge tracing and AI-powered learning systems, we will look at how these technologies work, what they can (and cannot) do, and what they could mean for education in Morocco and beyond — including the opportunity to build learning tools that speak our own languages.
